The Maternity Department at Trumbull Memorial features all private rooms and a High-Risk Level II nursery. Most expectant mothers find it reassuring that both a neonatologist and perinatologist are on staff at TMH, should complications occur. Also on staff are lactation consultants to support new moms as they get adjusted to motherhood. For your convenience, a breast pump rental station is offered to the community as well as an inpatient service. Various maternity supplies are available for purchase. To help first-time and experienced mothers feel more at ease through pregnancy and the various stages of labor and delivery, Childbirth Preparation, Childbirth Refresher, and VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) classes are available.
