PATIENT INFORMATION

Becoming a Patient

A referral from a physician is required for admission to our inpatient program. For more information about becoming a patient at Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital, please call our Admissions Department at 330-841-3766.

When a Patient Arrives

On the day of admission, the patient or a family member needs to visit our Admissions Office, located at the front entrance to the hospital. The patient or family member will sign some forms. He or she will also need to provide insurance information.

Patients should bring:

  • Insurance card or health benefit card
  • Insurance forms
  • Any related financial information

If the patient does not have a card from the insurance company, he or she should bring an address where billing information can be sent.

We also suggest that a family member or friend accompany the patient when admitted to help the patient get settled in his or her room.

Daily Routine

Hillside patients have a daily routine that is similar to that of a working person. Regularly scheduled therapy sessions are mixed with rest, meals, visits, and leisure activities.

Therapy sessions usually take place at the heart of Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital, in Rehab Hall. This 25,000-square-foot center is a bright and airy space that will become the focus of a patient’s day. Inpatient and outpatient physical and occupational therapies, speech/language pathology, audiology and psychological services are located here.

Visitor Information

Family members and friends are important to the rehabilitation process, so we encourage visits to patients at Hillside. Visitors are permitted in the patient’s room, in the cafeteria and in the lobby areas. Visiting hours are scheduled to minimize interference with the patient’s rehabilitation schedule

To visit in the patient’s room, visitors must be over the age of 12. Children 12 and under may visit with patients in the main lobby, recreation room and elevator lobby area. Visitors in the patient’s room are limited to two at one time.
