The new addition of the Trumbull Memorial Hospital Center For Emergency Medicine opened at 7 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2006.

The 14,170 square foot, state-of-the-art Center for Emergency Medicine provides comprehensive, advanced care and features:

- Certified Chest Pain Center, accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers

- Consolidate emergency and fast-track areas
- 29 private treatment suites
- Pediatric treatment suite
- Ear, Nose & Throat suite
- Five ambulance bays
- Helipad
- Three respiratory isolation suites
- Obstetrics/Gynecology & Sexual Assault Victim Center
- Regional decontamination and bio-terrorism unit
- Two trauma CT scanners
- Digital radiography (a filmless x-ray technology)
- Traumatologist/Surgical Critical Care physicians
