Community Outreach Forum Health's Cancer CareCenters
Forum Health's Cancer CareCenters are involved with many organizations and projects throughout the community to coalition and inform individuals of collaborative services, information, prevention and early detection as it relates to cancer. These efforts may include health fairs, educational forums, public education sessions, screenings and support services. The following list includes some of the organizations with which we work:

American Cancer Society
A non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer and saving lives. The ACS hopes to diminish suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and services.

Women's Health Advantage
A program funded through a grant from the Ohio Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Breast and cervical cancer prevention is the focus addressed by this project, which is directed by Planned Parenthood of the Mahoning Valley. Information and screenings with follow-up referrals are the mainstay of this program.

Mahoning Valley Coalition for Cancer Control & Prevention in the Black Community (MVCCCPBC)
The National Black Leadership Initiative on Cancer (NBLIC) was established by the National Cancer Advisory Board in 1989 as the first minority outreach initiative of the National Cancer Institute (NCI). From this the MVCCCPBC was established in 1990 to address the cancer burden found in the African American population. It has been well documented that the African American population has a higher incidence rate of some cancers, as well as higher mortality rates than other ethnic groups. The mission of the Mahoning Valley Coalition for Cancer Control & Prevention in the Black Community is to embrace and support the goal of reducing cancer and cancer mortality among this ethnic group. Under the leadership of prominent members of the black community and other interested individuals, this coalition has increased awareness, designed programs and informed African Americans about cancer risks and addressed barriers that limit access to opportunities for prevention, early detection and state-of-the-art treatment for cancer.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
This organization provides support, education and assistance to family members and patients diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and other blood-related cancers.
